Samsung’s new Android Flip phone W2019 on the way to announce soon. W-series phones are clamshell phones with flagship specs released for the Chinese market. Last year’s model, the W2018, is the first Samsung phone to have a variable aperture camera. That same technology is used in this year’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+
This year, Samsung will be bringing a feature already available on some of its other Galaxy phones to the W-series.Going by the naming scheme for the series, this year’s model should launch as the Samsung W2019, and according to Chinese leaker @MMDJ_, the phone will come with dual rear cameras. This will be a first for the series. He also says the W2019 is currently known internally as “Project Lykan”. Although he doesn’t mention any other specification details, we expect the Samsung W2019 will retain the signature dual displays of the series, pack a Snapdragon 845 processor, and have a fingerprint scanner.
The W2019 will also be expensive. The W2018 sells for ¥16,999 (~$2563). The phone will not launch until the end of the year, most likely in December. However, there is a high chance more details will surface before then.
