Western Digital Xbox Storage Expansion Card
Expandable storage is supported by Microsoft's Xbox gaming consoles, and at the moment, Seagate is your only choice if you're looking for it.
However, that is about to change as Microsoft appears to be prepared to provide Western Digital and other manufacturers with expandable storage options for the Xbox lineup.
Western Digital's new 1TB expansion card for the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles has been spotted online at Best Buy, where it costs$ 179.99.
The product is not yet available for purchase because the company hasn't made an official announcement about it. The online retailer took the listing offline shortly after the reports about it began to appear online.
About three years ago, Microsoft introduced the Xbox expandable storage cards from Seagate in a variety of storage capacities, ranging from 512GB to 2TB. Even after all these years, the price of the product didn't drop, whereas it did for Sony PS5 products of a similar nature.
With the new features from Western Digital, the Xbox Series X/ S will finally have an expandable storage card that isn't made by Seagate and is also less expensive than what they're currently selling for. We anticipate that they will be released soon, within a few days, if not weeks, given that it was listed on Best Buy with an associated price.
